1) Breath Like Lily - For bass bamboo flute and MAX/MSP) (7’/2011/Beijing Premiere)

The original ideal of the work comes from the idioms “breathe like lily”. It tries to use uncommon playing methods of bass bamboo flute such like “breath sound”, "vibrato" etc. to describe various movement patterns of "breath". The music is composed of several paragraphs which can make free pause controlled by the player. Also with MAX / MSP of different effects and pre-wave, the flute sound can be processed in real time.
2) Galaxy - for Fractal Image and Computer Music (7’/2012/ World Premiere)
Composer: Chih-Fang Huang (Taiwanese Computer Music Association)
Galaxy exists from the ancient world, and it shows human being’s insignificance, compared to the great natural world. This piece is composed by fractal theory to generate animated images, to integrated with electroacoustic sound. It combines both noise and pure tone using oscillators in an extreme way, to put both harmonic and inharmonic sounds together, and use granulation sound synthesis to form various sounds. Long-tone drones and short-tone rhythm patterns can be simultaneously generated in an interdisciplinary way with graphic-based animation and oscillator-based audio objectively. It explores the correlation between the great nature figure and the abstract idea, to express the concept of “unification of heaven and human” with concrete computer techniques.
3) PU2012 (protoplastus Unus)(10’/2012/China Premiere)

The composition "Prothoplastus Unus" for solo Piano was created in 2008 and rewrote (+ extended) in 2012. It was then rename PU2012.
The piece investigates new technique of composition ranging from complex composition and multilayers sound production to controlled improvisation + loops and feedback sound design (live interaction).
The composition is based on the notion of sound layers. For that piece, the piano is not used as a melodic/ harmonic instrument. The performer would rather use it like a percussive instrument.
By playing with the hammers of the piano, the musician is disturbing a set of strings creating vibrating nodes.
The more strings to be disturbed the ore complex is the created sound. Music generates a set of disturbed and fluctuating simple motion waves.
The frequency used for the piece is reduced to a set of noise that is moving through the entire register of the instrument.
The structure of the composition also introduces the notion of physical cycles, based on the idea of compression and release, like a breathing cycle… Music should follow a physical cycle where tension period should be followed by released period of more or less equal duration.

5)"Variation" (11'26''/2008/Beijing Premiere)
Composer: Guan Peng
The main sound source for "Variation" is a set of bell-families, such as bell tree, Tibetan singing bells, Bhutan bells and wind bells. These instruments' qualities proved a very fruitful basis for many transformations. With a primary focus on samples of bell type instruments, the work presents the dense textures of bells along with vary kinds of typologies and more abstractly designed morphological constructs.
